It was hard honestly. I read chapters & notes everyday, listened to recorded lectures, met with study groups. I managed a B- in the class but I also took Calc for pharm as well. If this is your first time in nursing school I would highly recommend Fundamentals of Nursing review book to help with the NCLEX style questioning
The one I used was Fundamentals of Nursing by Patricia A. Nugent and Barbara Vitale. It broke down concepts and helped me a lot with Nutrition. Just curious what classes are you taking this Fall? Don't be nervous you'll be fine! **Start remembering your pre & post protocols for skills testing now if you can though
You have no idea how helpful our little convo has been so far! I tried contacting other current students (people in their second level and beyond) and I swear they have a pact to not answer any questions from new nursing students. I'll be taking 111, calc for pharm and psychology. I was going to take 113 also but I decided against it. I didn't want to overwhelm myself the first semester and set myself up for failure.
Its my pleasure to help as much as I can! You got to have tough skin in RCC's nursing program, only a few people will help you & give you tips. That schedule doesn't sound too bad! Once you get the hang of calc for pharm it will be a breeze! But I'd def recommend getting any other pre-reqs done during the summer or winter sessions as much as that sucks. Do you work? I work full time and I'm a single mother. So with good study habits you'll do just fine
Thanks so much for all your help and advice. I have one more prerequisite (chemistry) to take after psych but I plan on taking that in the summer. I will be working but part-time and I'm fortunate enough where I can pick my own schedule. I've been reading other forums where students have said they have worked full time while in school but I personally don't think I'd be able to do that. Kudos to you for doing that.

Hey everyone!
Hoping someone, anyone, finds this thread lol. I've been looking on the Internet and AllNurses and I haven't been able to find a thread about students entering the nursing program for Fall 2016 at RCC. I figured I would start a thread as a way to get us all aquatinted with one another. Also, if anyone out there who plans on applying to RCC has any questions, feel free to ask! :)
