I feel for you. My school thank heaven was not this way. They did away with the waiting list for admissions.
The way it works if you apply and are don't get in this year then you must reapply next year all over again.
It used to be a first come first served basis and you could stay on a waiting list for 5 years. Now they only select the best qualified candidates. The percent who graduate went way up (according to the faculty) once they became more selective about who got in.
I love the feedback....
angus... our school is like your's used to be.
When i went to apply to the program I actually encountered a line that had been growing since 1200 am the night before, at least 50 people. Now at each bimester there's this same mad rush to secure the 'coveted' clinical site.... sheesh... I hate this kind of stress!
IF they paid nursing instructors MORE... then there wouldn't be such a shortage of instructors... IF there were more instructors, then there would be a lot more seats available. (I really do sympathize with you and share your frustration. Sorry if I sound jaded, but we just had ANOTHER instructor quit at our cc... for higher salary elsewhere.)

Remember camping out for tickets? The mad rush, the fierce competition, the hot dogs...
Well w/out the hot dogs that's what my school is like even to trying to get better clinicals than what you've been dealt with. I checked w/ the local state university and they have a three year waiting list for their clinicals!
Did anyone else go through this kind of crap ?
