I was at the gym working out and watching the tv when it came up... Is this really true? It was ranked 2nd on the list and security guard was 1st. Your thoughts?

It was I believe it was like a Reader's Digest type of survey though. It did specify that nurses didn't hate their jobs they hated the politics involved. Like for example you can't take verbal orders from a doctor, you have to chart it as telephoned from office. But theres politics involved in every job and healthcare is just one of many. If you go into nursing for the right reasons you'll find it really rewarding even when doing something disgusting (like cleaning up a code brown!)

It also cracked the top ten in suicide rates. The reason being that it is a very draining profession not only physically but mentally, even the most dedicated of workers can feel drained, unappreciated, and fed up ! That is why it is important not to take on to much. When you first work in the field the schedualer tends to take advantage of your enthusiasm and your guilt and asks you to work a lot of hours, this makes you feel invinsible and like super nurse :nurse: only to quickly leave you feeling drained and burned . Which is why it is just as important to take care of your self as well as you care for others :heartbeat.
