RN salary 2013 California, Ohio and MI

Published

Hi everyone I would like to know how much you guys are making per hour. My hubby wants to move to MI. We are currently living in social. I started my new job as an RN ( night shift) at $28.78 without differential ($4.00 night shift plus $2.00 weekends, plus $1 for my BSN) . Please feel free to PM if you prefer that!

What is the cost of living though. I imagine that plays a big part of the $10/hr increase. In the area I am currently at you can buy a nice size house in a very good area with virtually no crime for about 125-150k. Apartments start around 500/month but that is for a small one, however you can find some pretty good deals even in the larger areas for around $700/month for a 2 or three bedroom.

NY is obv more expensive but that's really only if you live in Manhattan, Brooklyn, western Queens etc. Real estate ranges here. It all depends what you want and how close to Manhattan one wants to live. No offense to other cities/states but there's something for everyone in NY which is something I can't say about other places. Where I grew up and live is just outside of Queens on Long Island and I work just inside if Queens at a brand new hospital in one of the nation' largest health systems. I get more than compensated to live comfortably and NY is not as dangerous as the movies or previous decades make it out to be. City hospitals get paid even more and offer subsidized housing in Manhattan through the hospital which makes living in the city MUCH cheaper.
