I need to take clinicals with the AHEC in my area but there is a obstacle. I work full time swing shift and the days that the AHEC wants me to do the clinicals is going to be impossible with my work schedule. I need this clinical experience badly and don't know what else to do. I have to work and my schedule can't be customized for this...Any ideas or has anyone encountered this problem? I have been out of nursing 10 years and want to return but without the clinicals it will not happen. Help!

if you cannot take off work you really have no choice, from what you stated. Talk to the instructor or advisor from the school to see if there is an alternative. Otherwise, you will need to determine what matters most, job or school

How could any of us help you? The clinicals you want and/or need conflict with your work schedule.
Something has to give and which something gives is entirely up to you.

Take a night med-surg class with clinicals? Otherwise, I agree, you quit working to get your practical time in, or you don't and you don't.
