Hi all - Wondering if anyone here has worked as or knows another RN who has worked as a pharmaceutical rep. Any info on qualifications? Where to locate job opportunity info? I worked in a pharmacy for 7 years before graduating nursing school and miss that aspect...Thanks in advance!:)

Usually you just have to have a Bachelor's degree but different companies will have different requirements. Basically they will be looking for a good salesperson, someone who is knowledgeable about their product and its competitor, and someone who presents a good image for their company.

I, too, would love to hear more about this. I would think that with an RN you would have a great understanding of the physiologic activities of pharmaceuticals.

I have many friends that are pharmaecutical reps. They all have a BSN and also got recommendations. My husband is a pharmacist and helped, one guy that was a mutual friend work for Phifzer. It can be done. One of the nurses I work with, her husband is a pharmaceutical rep. He has a marketing degree. So the moral is go for it
