RN Pay in St.Louis and Travel Nursing

I am curious as to what I can expect to make once I get my RN degree. I would like to stay in st.louis to work but I always here the pay is too low, it's hard to find a job and Missouri is Non-Union. I do not hear many positives, I have always thought St.Louis is like the Medical Mecca we have so many medical centers in the city and surrounding counties. I would like to know what to expect. I am a PCA student at St.Johns and I hope this will serve me well, what else should I be doing to better myself for becoming a RN. Also how many of you do travel Nursing? I dream of doing this, can someone give me more insight into what to expect as a travel nurse and what is the best specialty for being a travel nurse. Thanks Again!:typing
