RN moving to Tampa; Would St Petersburg General be a good hospital?

I am moving to Tampa, hopefully will be there by April, and I am currently applying to a couple of different hospitals. I want to work on a med-tele, PCU or another floor that would interest me. My most promising job opportunity looks to be at Saint Petersburg General Hospital working on a PCU floor. Does anyone have any insights onto this floor. Also, what do you think of TGH? All the help I could get would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi there!

SPG is a good facility but it's on the small side. I would recommend trying St. Anthony's Hospital. It's a happy medium between both small and big and it's very close to the I275 on ramp which is what you'll take to and from Tampa. Plus the hospital is expanding it's critical care sections (CVI and ICU)

Good luck!

I did my clinicals on the PCU at St. Anthony's, and I wouldn't dare work there. Too many patients and not enough ancillary staff to help. That was a couple of years ago though, so maybe things have gotten better. Just my opinion.
