Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site so excuse me if this has been asked already.
I was a RN in India for 10 years. I moved to the u.s. and worked in medical lab for 10 years and recently passed my LPN exam here. I'm currently studying for my RN exam here. My credits and training from India were accepted here, I just need to pass my RN exam.
Since I haven't worked in my field for more than 10 years, I am having difficulty finding employment. I am currently redoing my resume and opting for "functional resume" rather than a chronological one to show that I do have healthcare experience.
My question is about the Objective title in my resume. Keeping in mind that I'm applying for an LPN job, should I mention that I used to be an RN out of the country and am currently seeking a position as LPN? Does that look bad or as if I'm moving "down" rather "up?"
This is what I have so far for the objective section in my resume: "Motivated and skilled individual with eight years of experience internationally as an RN seeking employment as an LPN that offers variety, challenge, and increased patient contact and care."
Please let me know and thanks for your time!
