I'm really sorry you aren't having luck finding a job right now but please keep in mind that many people in other fields aren't either. "Refused to be treated like this?" Huh? Frankly I don't know of any profession that is entitled to immediate jobs, loans being deferred or special consideration in hiring once they are no longer a new graduate because the economy is in the crapper. Imo jobs in LTC or hospice are still jobs and if you later have trouble getting a hospital job there are things you can do at that point. Good luck. Have you heard back from either of the interviews you had?

I have been on so many nurse forums trying to figure out what is going on with the job shortage for RN grads. I must say it has been difficult sometimes reading posts of nurses telling RN grads, “well you may want to sharpen your resume skills , or you’re not looking hard enough to find work.” You are talking to people who had to busted their ass to get through nursing school which is no easy feat. I for one have put in 120% filling out applications, making calls, going to job fairs, open houses, etc., and have gotten two interviews out of it.
I am new to this field like so many of you. I have heard of the lateral violence on nursing units and how nurses eat their young, but I would hope in this time of crisis we as a community can't at least be more understanding and supportive to novice nurses.
