RN entrance exam (PSB)

Has anyone taken the Psychological Services Bureau entrance exam for RN's? I'm in an LPN program now but am testing Monday for the RN entrance exam. You're allowed to take it twice and I've taken it once already. I did well on everything but the verbal portion. :imbar You get 4 words and must choose the one that is not meaning the same as the others. The only problem is all 4 words are things I've never heard of. Words like retinue and educe. I tried breaking it down from the meanings of the prefixes and suffixes but I still didn't do very well on the verbal portion of the test. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Thanks:):)

The only comment I have is GOOD LUCK!! I got on here to search for you, and this was your last post!! I'm happy to see your going on for RN, I still have prereq's to do. School has been so rough!! But I made it. I haven't had a life for the past 4 months, except for my Christmas break, which I totally enjoyed!! I start back today, and my stomach is in knots. But I'm ready to get it over with. I've nevwer been so stressed over school like I was in December. We had 13 Exams in 11 days, and the best part was I PASSED!! So apparently I'm absorbing the info well!! Let me know how your doing, and best of luck on your RN entrance exam!!:)

i have to retake that same exam and i did horrible on the nonverbal analogies...could sure use some help here....sounds like we are going to the same school

I took the psb test and did good. I was confused about the first word part too, but ended up doing quite well somehow. I suggest that you get one of the prep books to help you study. I think if you do a search on amazon with the PSB you will find some books. Best of luck to you.
