I went to Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) for my RN to BSN. I did this one class per semester and paid by semester. Totally online classes, however, they do require 40 hours of clinicals in a public health setting in order to obtain your PHN.

There are currently over 700 RN-to-BSN programs offered online. I can't research them all and really wish there was an online search with all those schools to narrow down my choices.
I have been an RN with my Associates Degree since 1997. I work as a bedside nurse since graduating in a few different facilities in Massachusetts . I have always wanted to get my BSN and would still like to even though I am in my early 50s.
This BSN is not required where I work currently and I do not plan on leaving bedside nursing. This advancement in my degree is purely for me.
What I would like in an online program would be the ability to go slow with 1 class at a time. so this will take me sometime to complete . The schools with tuition by semester to complete quickly to save money will Not be the correct fit for me.
I also would like it to be 100% online with no clinical.
So besides tuition by class and no clinical this doesn't really narrow it down for me.
It's been over 20 years since I have been in school and advice from older nurses in school or recently graduated from an RN to BSN program will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
