RN associates

I am working in another field right now and want to get my RN so that I can eventually work in a hospital in L&D while I work on my Masters for my CNM,

However, our local community college only offers RN classes during the week in the mornings. Is this common everywhere? How can I afford to go to school if I can't work?

And I evidently no longer qualify for Federal Financial Aide anymore because I already have a Bachelor's degree.

You might want to look into some private loans to help out and work part time too. But, I am in a similar boat. It's so frustrating. I do not have a BSN and do qualify for the financial aide but after the federal aide, and loans and even a private loan while working part time, I still will not be able to afford to pay for everything. I don't know what to do either. Let me know what you come up with.

As long as you have not hit the federal limit you still qualify for student loans, just not grants.

Interesting... I'll have to clarify that with the advisor for the ASN program. Her e-mail made it sound like once you get an undergraduate degree, you are no longer eligible for federal financial aide.

I'm not too worried about the actual tuition because our local hospital here will re-pay it for you if you work for them when you graduate (plus my grandma said she'd lend me the $) - it's more the living expenses while I'm in school because I'd have to basically quit my job teaching and work part time hourly, which still wouldn't be enough for the regular bills.
