RN Assaulted by psych patient/HELP ME

Nurses Disabilities

Published

My name is Ron, a Registered Nurse working in Intensive Care for over 20 years. On November 6, 2020, I was Assaulted by a 300lb Psychiatric Patient who kicked my ribs and additionally injured my sciatic nerve in my left leg, leaving me with excruciating pain to my leg and ribs. The worst injury that developed was the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder manifesting intense Anxiety and Depression diagnosed by my doctor leading to periodic Panic attacks continuing to this very day. My doctor's refuse to give me a anti-anxiety medication to stop my acute symptoms along with the other long term medication like lexapro that I'm taking. I am also doing counseling, meditation, exercise and other remedies, but I am not getting the care that I need to stop the cycle. I am a victim of the system that I have protected my patients from for over 20 years. Being age 55, I have cared for those with covid-19 during this pandemic enduring the stressors we all have faced and have been fortunate to keep my life. But now,.I am in great trouble and need help. I have never missed a payment and honored all my obligations with over $200,000.00 in debt along with rent, utilities, autos, insurances, food, etc. Since November, I have used all of my savings and I am struggling to keep a roof over our head, eat, and stay warm while doctor's neglect my needs and are putting me in financial ruin, uncontrolled pain, and anxiety attacks. I am begging for the public's help financially hoping for a goal of $30,000.00 to pay for my rent, cars, insurance, utilities, food and the like for who knows how many more months with my injuries while my creditors continue to harass me for my owed debt adding to my anxiety. I am begging for the public's financial assistance. I will get through this no matter what because that is who I am, but I need someone's help to survive this trial. If you are reading this now, I beg you to contribute in anyway you can to get me back to work and continue to do what I was designed to do and help others through the craft that God has blessed me to do as a proud and exceptional Registered Nurse. God Bless, Ronald Jay Herron, RN CA Lic #587848 #HOPING
