But I want to be prepared in any way possbile. But i can't wait to start school and I would to be as prepared as possbile. Since I am overseas going to the school is impossible until about Nov 2010. Specializes in Cardiac, Rehab.
Sounds good to me!

Are you working while in school? I'll probably still be working full-time. It's gonna be a busy 3 years!

Oh yeah, I have a full time day job, otherwise I would go days and shorten it all by a year. I need to build up my retirement as much as I can. If my job doesn't last as long as the time in school, I may shift over to the day program, but you have to have the timing right to do that.

From what I can tell at the orientation, there are 3 guys in this class including me. Two are on the day schedule, one is an LPN bridge student. I'm the only guy in the night program for this year. Total looks to be about 24 students. All the instructors are female and most of them are grandmothers. Lot of experience there for sure.

It's funny you mention retirement - I work in that industry right now and can't wait to get out.

The only guy huh? You'll get a lot of attention.

Congrats on starting the program! Keep us posted on how it goes. I've heard good things about it.

The test is basic math, science, etc. High school level... nothing pressing. The interview is basically them reviewing your score with you, and asking you the standard, "So, what qualities should a nurse possess?" Standard... There is absolutely no reason to stress! I tested, got an early acceptance letter based on my score, interviewed and started a few months later. I graduate in two months. It is a great school... you won't be disappointed!

Oh, and thanks for your service! My husband is a Marine pilot, currently in Afghanistan... :)

Hi All,

I am currently in the process of applying to this school as well. I am an out of state student so any information I can get would be extremely helpful! What kind of GPA are they looking at as far as pre req's? How long does it usually take for them to accept or deny you? How was the interview and test process? I am so nervous because I would be quitting my job in Michigan (I work as a medical assistant for a hospital) and moving to VA. I have been worried I am not making the right decision but waiting on a school in Michigan can take between 2 and 4 years to get in :uhoh3: If you all can help out in any way it would be great. I am currently working on my essay now!

Just wondering - how is Riverside? Do you like it?
