Hi all.
I am at a pretty big teaching hospital that has multiple MICUs and SICUs. I have been told by many of the nurses on my SICU that there is a poor relationship between the two but she wasn't sure exactly why. Any thoughts?

Yeah I agree the personalities in each unit are very different. Both units think their patients are the sickest!!

i used to work in a large teaching facility for 5 years. we had an micu, an sicu, and a ashu (adult surgical heart unit). there was a rift between these units the size of the grand canyon! i could never figure it out for the life of me! in my own opinion, it is childish and fosters that whole "nurses eating their young behavior." why can't we all get along! shessh!!!!!!
