Riding a Motorcycle to Interview. Good Idea?

Right now, my motorcycle is my only means of transportation. My SUV is in desperate need of an infusion of parts and money before it goes anywhere. It is not dead, but it is in a cryogenic state until I can get it fixed. Thing is, no job, no money to fix it.

I got on with a LTC that is going to take care of my school and certification. I start in two weeks. But for the longest time I was looking for work and showing up to interviews on my crotch rocket. Was this detrimental to my job search?

Back when I had a business I hired a couple of employees who showed up on bikes, but being a rider myself, it did not seem like a big deal.

I actually have three bikes. I have my Yamaha R6 that is my daily ride. I have a 2002 Yamaha V-Max that is my cruiser. And I have a 1999 Kawazaki ZX-6R that is my track bike. I have been sliding knees around a corner for years. I have crashed at the track a few times and got run over by the rider behind me on one of those crashes. One of the times I crashed I lowsided right by one of the track photographers and he got some great pictures as my bike and I slid past him.:D

I would think the VMax more as the daily commuter type, not the R6. But to each his own I guess. Sounds like maybe you really don't have a transportation problem if you have 3 bikes. How's the winter weather in San Angelo? Not sure I could bring myself to strictly MC commuting without having a cage for a back up. I'm too much of a wuss that way.

Cheers.

I have been riding sportbikes since 1988. I rode standards for 11 years before that. The first sportbike I got I bought from another soldier when I was in the Army. It was a 1985 GPZ-900 Ninja. In black and red. Exactly like what Tom Cruise rode in Top Gun.

I have gotten used to riding the smaller more agaile rockets in everyday traffic. The VMax is a hugely powerful machine. It is just as powerful as my sportbikes but in a different way. The sportbikes are like thoroughbreds. The VMax is like a rodeo bull. The sportbikes can kill you. The VMax WANTS to kill you.:D

The weather here has been amazingly mild. It has only gotten down into the 30s for a couple of days and that was in the mornings. I am still wearing my mesh jacket to ride except I wear an Under Armor longsleeved shirt topped with a longsleeved t-shirt underneath. If I am going to an interview I wear a nice shirt and tie, but still have the Under Armor on if it is chilly.
