review question about antibodies

Published

Such a random odd question. I am going over my notes before the year starts back up to do a quick review. Reading over my Immune system notes and under antibodies I wrote this:

"IgG-they can give you if you have a problem (georgia syndrome) it wont do anything if Dr orders some other Ig for them-verify it!!!"

I am hoping someone can give me some insight on what the heck we might have been talking about when I wrote that down. I can't remember anything about this for the life of me and I can't think what to look up even Sometimes I wish I wrote my notes more clearly for myself. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

The part about "it wont do anything if dr orders some other IG for them-verify it" is the part that threw me off the most.

It sounds like only IgG will treat the condition, so if the doctor orders some other Ig (like IgA) it won't work. So, if a doctor does not order IgG then you need to bring it up to them.
