Retake exam Hawaii

Published

I got an att from Hawaii in 2013, took the exam but failed. Right now, I am planning to re take the exam again after 4 years and I am not sure if I have to re apply and submit all the documents or I could just register at pearson vue and wait if they going to send me an att? Anyone? Thanks!

If you're reapplying for licensure in Hawaii, you'll need to check with the HI state board of nursing. After this long, it's very likely you'll need a new background check, at the very least. If you're applying for licensure in another state, you'll need to submit all the paperwork that they require.

As an aside, I highly recommend that you take an in-depth nursing refresher course before attempting NCLEX again.

Have you tried ringing them? This is what I found on their website Professional and Vocational Licensing (808) 586-3000

Thankyu for asking this question... I'm in the same boat as you...

It's so hard to get in touch with them and you stay on the line for hours. I recommend calling several times a day until you actually get to speak with someone. Writing letters helps too.
