I will soon be re-entering nursing part-time (probably PRN) after being on medical disability for almost 10 years. I'm currently enrolled in a RN refresher course and will finish by the end of the year.
I'm not sure how to address this on my resume or during an interview. Should I reveal my disability? I still have the medical condition that required me to go on disability but have been receiving a new treatment which is what is allowing me to return to work. My treatment will require me to be off for one week every month (which is why I will need to work part-time/PRN). Do I need to reveal that? And if so, how do I present that in a way where someone would still be willing to hire me?
I have an excellent work history prior to my disability, but I recognize I have a lot of obstacles to overcome. I just turned 50, so while I'm not a spring chicken anymore, I still have a lot to offer the nursing profession.
