Hi.
I'm a recent MSN graduate and just passed by NP board exam last week. I'm revising my resume and not sure how to properly word the "summary" and "certification" sections. I've applied for my NP license but have not received it as of yet. Would appreciate ideas and suggestions. Thanks so much. Lisa

I don't think there is a need for a summary. I would omit it as they just take up space and provide you with a chance to "blow it" without helping you in any significant way.
For certifications -- just put a heading "Certifications" and list them -- the name of the certification and the date obtained. If they are legitimate, there is no need to try to "dress them up." Plain and simple is sufficient.
Any schmoozing or "trying to impress" belongs in the cover letter. Keep you actual resume simple and factual.
That's just my 2 cents
Thank you for your "2 cents." I appreciate the helpful advice!

If you passed your boards, then obviously you should indicate you are board certified. As far as your state licence or DEA, if you have applied and are waiting, then I would state the date applied so your prospective employer is aware that you are on track to becoming licensed.
Thank you for your suggestion. I will do that.
