Resume Fluffing

Published

Hi everyone! I am currently a stay at home mom ready to re-enter the work force. I earned my CNA certification about a year ago, however being a stay at home mom for the past 3 years is making for a very pathetic resume. :/ So that being said, my resume needs some serious fluffing within a fairly short amount of time! I would prefer a CNA position at Vanderbilt. I know that is going to be a long shot, but I am willing to do what it takes to get there.

I went and got my BLS for Healthcare Providers certification yesterday, and I plan to get my First Aid certification within the next week or so. I also applied to volunteer for the AHA, and am planning to apply to volunteer at the hospital I am wanting to work at on Monday. (That is when their volunteer application period begins.) I am considering getting a Bloodborne Pathogens certification, but a friend of mine advised that it would be a waste of money.

So does anyone have any thoughts, comments, suggestions for me? Any extra certifications that will be fairly cheap and quick to attain? Or any other volunteer work that would help me stand out? Thanks! :)
