Hello. the websites are great but does anyone know of any interactive software to aid nursing training? Thanx:)

It's not really interactive (well, except for the pre-tests and the post-tests) but I couldn't recommend enough the wonderful Delmar nursing skills. They come in a set of four and they are superb. It shows you everything from basic care (bed making, baths, feeding, oral care) up to surgical care (wet-to-dry dressing changes, flushing ng tubes, cleaning traches), etc etc.

Hope this is what you meant.

Seriously though, they're superb! Our instructor uses them for us all of the time!

Specializes in critical care; community health; psych.

Actually there is one I recommend. It's called Virtual Clinical Excursions for Medical Surgical Nursing. The software is really cool and is a virtual hospital set up and you have virtual patients, right down to the DON's office. There's a book that goes with it. Saunders is the publisher and its prepared by Elaine Kennedy. It's a companion to the med surg book we use.

Oh yeah! I have that one too! I also had one that went with my Physical Examination and Health Assessment book by Jarvis.

You're right.....It's a great learning guide!

The only thing is.....you get it with the book. The Delmar skills are just step by step procedures demonstrated to the student....pictures, videos, text....all combined to make things clearer. I'd been lost without them.

RN Kittykat, where did you find this software. I live in Port Saint Lucie FL so the stores are probably similar to those where you are at. About how much was it?:)

Thanks in advance,

Alice
