Hello everyone,
I am a 4th year nursing student, (yay!!) I just started my final semester at school (double yay!). This term is about research evidence-based practices. My clinical placement is at VGH where I am to compile a resource package on procedures/prepping patients for radiology tests.
I was wondering if your hospital have a information package/binder that you use and is very effective? what worked and what didn't? and how you would like to improve access to the information?
your responses would be helpful and it would give me an idea on how to start working on a :easy to use" guidelines that RNs at the hospital can refer to.
Thank you in advance!

My hospital had 1 pagers about various procedures that we would give to patients...they were on a literature rack at the end of the hallway. Because everything had to be on a 5th grade reading level, I didn't find them very effective at all...can you imagine explaining an angio on a 5th grade reading level? When patients asked for them, we would give them out, but I found that they usually got left behind, and we would be better off either getting the docs to explain things to them, or explaining things ourselves.
