Long-Term Effects of Baccalaureate Students' International Nursing Experiences

on Practicing Nurses

Did you travel abroad sometime during your baccalaureate nursing education? If so, I would like to ask for your input to know what impact these experiences have had on YOU personally and professionally. Would you please take 10-15 minutes to respond to a short survey.

To participate in this study, you must:

  • Hold a baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing.
  • Have practiced as a Registered Nurse for at least 18 months
  • Currently work or volunteer as a Registered Nurse
  • You participated in an international nursing experience sometime during your baccalaureate education

The purpose of this descriptive study is to investigate long-term effects of baccalaureate international nursing experiences on practicing nurses. You will be asked to take a short online survey using Qualtrics®. Your identify will remain anonymous and all information will be presented in aggregate.

The investigator and members of the investigator's committee will review collected data. Information from this project will be used solely for purpose of this study.

Thank you for asking. I am looking at the long-term effects of international nursing experiences during baccalaureate education. The experiences could have been with your school or with an organization that you had nursing experiences. These international experiences provide a lot of insight when caring for clients from a different culture. Nursing needs to understand diversity and the implications for practice. World nursing is becoming more of an option for nurses, who can share their expertise in other countries. What results do you think you will find from your study?

At this point I am not sure what I will find but know that it has a positive effect on nurses in general. I will share what my results are when I am done.
