Hello:

For anyone currently in/attending Penn's Midwifery Program can you shed some light on process?

What was the average GPA in your applicant pool? Or what was your GPA?

How any recommendations did you have?

Did you have experience in the field? Or externships under your belt?

I am currently in a BSN program, and I want to apply possibly a year or two after graduation. I am just trying to gauge what an admitted applicant "looks like", and what would make for a stronger application.

Thanks!

Hi,

I've just found out that I was admitted to Penn's program. I start part time in January. I applied during my ABSN. I had the required 3 recommendations and 1 was from a Penn WHNP graduate. I worked briefly as a HIV counselor but the majority of my professional experience was not healthcare related. I don't know about other applicants but my GPA was 3.8.

Midwifery is a second career for me. I am 37 and currently working as a RN in Med Surg. Good luck!

Thank you for your response!

Would it be too much to ask to swap emails? I would love to hear more about your journey!

I sent you a private msg.

I'd like to see if anybody who has gone through the Midwifery program at UPenn would mind sharing about their experience. I feel that I have looked through everything I can look through, and it would be good to hear from someone's personal experience. Please message me! Thank you! CW
