renting vs buying books

Published

I need help from the vets. I need to get davis drug guide, math for meds, & mosbys diagnostic books. Am I able to rent any of these books or will they be referenced throughout the program? Are the newest editions a must with all? TIA

We used our books throughout the entire program. If you rent them, see how long the rental is for. Often you can extend it if necessary.

Also I forgot to tell you to make sure any math books that are workbook type you don't buy used. Some in our class bought used math books online not realizing that it had pages that we had to work, tear out and turn in. They had to go and buy a new book. Some math books are not workbook type and would be fine used.

Ooh I did not think of that! Thanks!

For reference books, just buy them used. They're often not that expensive and you'll be using them much longer than one semester.

For the "main" course books like--Med-Surg I would purchase (USED of course lol) & the Drug Guide, b/c you'll probably use that during the duration of the entire program..But for specialty classes like OB, peds, etc. I'd definitely rent!!
