Hello All- I am interested in applying for a Telehealth position- what is your typical work day like (I realize all companies are different)? I have read job descriptions of many companies, however I would like to know what to expect from nurses that are employed in this area. Is the training adequate? Do they provide you with educational resources to use during calls? Is it demanding? You will talk to parents who are scared because their kids are sick. It is a different type of nursing that is very mentally challenging. You will have to learn to hear more than what is said and how to ask questions to get the answers you are looking for. You will have resources and protocols to follow and hopefully a thorough orientation. If you have a strong, varied nursing background it can be very rewarding. It is never boring and every day is different. It is not easy. I wouldn't trade it for the world. 2 Likes
