Relocating To Maryland In Jan.2005/please Reply

Published

Hello we are relocating to Maryland in January 2005. I will be graduating from LPN School on December 8th. and Taking the state boards in January. My question is, what kind of process do I have to go through to get my license switched to a Maryland state license? Also what Kind of job opportunities will wait for me in Maryland. I know here in Philadelphia LPNS, not only work in LTC, but they employ them in ER, and ICU... Will I have some of these same opportunities in Maryland? What is the average pay rate for LPNs working in maryland..

Thanks

i am not absouloutely sure but I heard LPNS make about $17-maybe $20 an hour. The thing about getting your licensed switched I am guessing you would just have to go to where ever you plan on working and ask them that. And I am pretty sure that the opportunitities here will be about the same as the ones in Phila. Again I really dont know , but i dont think anyone answered you yet and i just wanted to help.

I've seen LPNs in the ER. So far I haven't run into any in ICUs. But then again, I'm just a new grad and haven't been around that long.

Best of luck to you.

I would like to thank everyone for there replies. My Husband and I have decided to stay in Philadelphia. Maryland Just doesnt have the resources we need to live comfortably

Thanks Again..
