I currently live in Philly and I graduate nursing school in August. I will be relocating to Houston, TX after graduation and was curious if anyone could give me any pointers on job searching techniques, time to start job searching, etc....its a little overwhelming trying to find a job months before graduation in a very far away state. Any advice would be appreciated.

Start researching the area for new grad internships in that area. When I initially started looking for a position, and received a call, I asked for a phone interview first. And after that, you may have to go there for the in-person interview. What I would suggest is if you are applying to several places and get several calls, try to do them all on the same visit. Its best to start looking now. A lot of people start looking about 6 months before graduation because those positions are very competitive. Its best to start looking now, that way, if it takes you a few months to finally get a call and an offer, you're still ahead of the game. But if you wait until after graduation, you'll be unemployed and still searching.
