Relocating to Cleveland to work at Cleveland Clinic

U.S.A. Ohio

Hi I will be relocating to Cleveland in the next couple months to start a job at the Cleveland Clinic in July. I am very excited for the move! I was hoping for suggestions on good suburbs to move to. I would preferably like the drive to be less than a half hour and a good place to meet younger people. Any suggestions out there?? Thanks!!

I am from the Cleveland area but now live in Southern Ohio. I miss it every day. I have not worked in the hospitals in Cleveland but have had experience with family members being patients. I have nothing bad to say about the Cleveland Clinic, everyone that I encountered there was wonderful. Also have had very good experiences at Cleveland's Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital. I wish you the best of luck.

Specializes in NICU, PICU, PACU.

The area around the main campus...no way would I live there! The Western subs are nice too...Westlake, Avon, etc. I you want l/d in a big hospital, UH or Metro are the places to go, CCF doesn't have maternity.

Specializes in Med/Surg/Tele, Hem/Onc, BMT.

Cleveland Heights is the best neighborhood close to the Clinic. You can move out to the burbs but if I could do it over I would choose Cleveland Hts. It is a progressive community with many good stores, restaurants, an indy theatre and many social groups to get involved in.

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus (downtown) does not have L/D but some of their smaller branch hospitals do--Fairview Hosp on far west sid e of the city.

For a younger person I would recommend Coventry, Tremont, or Downtown neighborhoods all would keep you close to entertainment, sports, and bars. Downtown is currently undergoing a rebirth. Lakewood (a burb on westside) is also good for bar hopping and young people
