I dont understand reimbursement. Do you get a seperate check in addition to your salary? How does this work?

Unfortunatly this is a question with many answers depending on the employment contract. If you have your own practice insurance payments or cash services are all you make. If you work for a group, you can have a set salary or hourly pay. Some NPs also can receive a % of collection, or can be in a profit sharring plan.there are many different models for salary.

The answer to this is: it depends. If you are employed, it depends on how your employer has set it up and/or what you negotiated (salary vs contract, vs profit sharing, etc). It can be in fixed dollar amounts, or perhaps an agreed upon percentage of gross or net receipts.
If you are in your own practice (as I am), checks and/or electronic deposits arrive daily. Sometimes in small amounts, sometimes larger amounts.
Hope that helps.
