Regis ABSN 2021

Published

Hey guys!

I didn't see a thread for the Regis ABSN 2021 program yet so I figured I'd start one. I just finished my application a couple weeks ago! Has anyone else applied / planning on applying? I've also applied to the UCAN Denver program.

A little about me – I originally received my Bachelor's in Psychology and went to a Master's program for Clinical Adult Psychology. After moving to Denver, I decided to make the switch to software development and went to a bootcamp. I'm now eager to get back into a caring field and am very excited about eventually becoming a nurse <3!

Best of luck to everyone!

Awesome! I just made a comment on your personal page. I'd love to ask you some questions if that would be okay ?

Hi all, is anyone here currently enrolled in the Regis ABSN? I'm deciding between Regis and the CU UCAN. I've had chances to talk to students from CU and it would mean a lot to me if I could get some info from an actual Regis student. Let me know! Thanks!

Ask away! I’m currently in the Regis ABSN Jan 2021 cohort. T minus 3 months until graduation! Congrats everyone on your phone calls!!

Does anyone that is in Regis’s nursing program have any information about the class grade requirement, whether they have HESI or TEAS exams at the end of each semester, and how difficult this program actually is to pass? I’m ADHD and school is very hard for me, but I am an excellent hands on learner and have been a CNA for five years, have saved numerous lives, and couldn’t picture myself anywhere else besides nursing. I tried getting a nursing degree at Denver College of Nursing and left after the first semester. I was treated poorly, it costed $14,000 just to take 6 classes, and the instructors didn’t seem to care about helping students to succeed and failed out more than half my cohort. Prior to that, I had applied to every public BSN nursing program in Colorado and was rejected. I am just about done with nursing school in Colorado and am thinking about leaving the state for nursing school unless someone can tell me more about Regis and their ABSN program. Thank you!

The ABSN program is not easy. No HESI or TEAS exams, but you do have Kaplan exams at the end of every 5 week course. As far as difficulty, I’d give it a 7/10. The material isn’t super hard but it is a LOT of info to shove into your brain in a short amount of time. The first term is so brutal that most of us question if the pace can be sustained (27 credits in 15 weeks). That said, it does get a bit easier for a  few reasons: 1. You learn to live your life one week at a time and just super focus on the stuff that is due that week. 2. The amount of content is overwhelming, so you simply must keep up. 3. The information builds on itself, so your understanding grows exponentially. 4. You can do anything for 11 months.

I have found the teachers helpful when needed, but they will not go out of their way to make sure you are succeeding. They figure you are an adult learner who will seek help if you need it. I don’t think anyone has failed out of my cohort, though a couple people moved from the accelerated to the “choice” program.

I know you may be able to apply for accommodations for your ADHD. Good luck!

Thank you. @JMMish. What percentage must be earned to pass in each class? At DCN it was a 79% in each class after the HESI at the end of each 8 weeks. The learning format was hybrid. Is regis hybrid as well, or is the learning format on campus only? Thank you

An average of 75% across all exams is passing for a class. A is 93+

For us, due to covid, classes were hybrid/online for awhile, but it is an all in-person on campus program and we are back to all in-person as of August.
