regarding patient identifiers in a nursing home

hello! I have a question. My patient for my next rotation is incoherent, and in the nursing home, so they do not wear armbands. I am to administer g-tube meds, so my instructor will be up my butt and around the corner I am sure. I am stressing over the patient identifiers, as she is in coherent. I was wondering if I could take the mar with the pic on it into the room as verification, and maybe ask the nurse at the nurses station to verify the name for me. I wonder if that is an acceptable identifier. what do you do in that situation? I mean if I could get a PCT to go in the room with us, I could easily ask them to recite the patients name, but thats a big IF. Any help/suggestions appreciated!
