Regarding Nursing Candidacy Spring 2019 in Laguardia community College

Hi Guys,

I am Tseten and I am Prenursing Student. I applied for spring 2019 nursing program and I have also received a letter from the school regarding candidacy and the results come on Jan 10 whether I got in or not.

Does anyone know if incoming candidacies are competitive?

Also, I just finished taking the SCC 110 class and SCN 195 class. For the Pre-requisites, I have B in ENG 101, A- in AP1, A in PSY 101 and C in SCC 110. Besides, I passed teas with 64 percent since 58 is passing in LAGCC. Also, When I checked Nursing Handbook it says the highest attainable grade is 12 points in order to be good Candidacy, but my falls around 10. I am just praying for the result:'(.

Although the 4 key courses are important, they also calculate the core courses which are Human developmental, ENG 102 and A&P 2, Since they double the GPA of Key courses and then add up core courses GPA with it. I got A in ENG 102, A- in Human developmental and C+ in A&P 2.

Who else applied for Spring 2019 nursing program in Laguardia? Good Luck Everyone!

I applied as well.. but for the bridge program. But I didn't get any mail stating when to come in.. how was it delivered. Via email or a letter sent to your house?

And my grades are pretty much like yours same with the teas just praying it ain't that competitive this time around

Hi, my name is Djennika. I'm interested in applying for spring 2020 to get in the fall 2020 for the RN program. i was supposed to apply this fall to start in the spring 2020. but i was scared to take the teas as i'm still taking scc110. right now my gpa is 3.2 because i got a c- in A&P 1. but i'm repeating it now and hoping a B+ , since i heard that the first grade will also count into the gpa. I got a B+ in Eng 101, B- in SSY 101, A+ in Math 120, A- in Eng 102, Scc110 i'm hoping a c+ or a B- it's so hard. SCN195 i got a A+ in that. Developemental psychology i got an A- . And i'll take A&P 2 in the second session. I haven't take the teas yet because i want to finish Chemistry first. Let say if i get a c+ in scc110, and a B+ in A&P 1. i'm so scared. i also completed Math 116 for the LPN just in case my advisor tells me that my grade arenxt strong enough. so i can just apply for the lpn instead.
