What are requirements for FNP recertification through AANP and ANCC? Which one is easier?

I read their websites, got some idea, but it is not quite clear to me.

I am trying to decide with exam to take and reading posts about it. Somebody wrote that AANP recertification is easier. Do I understand it right?

I almost decided to take AANP after reading about the exams. Just need to know one more thing.

Thanks!

Asking about recertification leads me to believe that you are already a NP? Why would you need to sit for boards again?

They are both about the same to be completely honest, have done both.

I am in my final semester and deciding what exam to day.

I took AANP b/c it was more clinical-based vs ANCC which will have more pics and research-related questions. I don't mind pics, but not the research-related questions. Plus since I would be practicing I felt like it made more sense to study for the more clinical-heavy exam.

When studying, I would also HIGHLY recommend Fitzgerald and NO ONE ELSE. She has the best review and her instructors help to write the questions that go on these exams so it's nice to learn from the people contributing to the actual exam than some other company.
