Ready to leave after my first year

I've been working on a vascular floor for a year now and I don't mind the work at all. The reason I want to leave is that we never seem to have enough staff. We have a nurse quit almost once a month. It gets tiring because we have too many patients and then not enough/no techs so then I feel overwhelmed. I have expressed my concerns but my charge nurse just says that it's like this everywhere in nursing no matter where you are. Is this actually true? It's depressing because it's affecting my sleep and my quality of life on my days off. Any advice is appreciated.

Turn your phone off if they are calling you on your days off. Work your shifts and engage in your own life on your time off. Fully staffed places are hard to find, so just do what you can and let management worry about their staffing problems.
