Reading Hospital School Of Health Sciences-A&P before or during?

Published

Hello everyone! I am hoping to get some insight from students or grads who have attended RHSHS or even another institution. I was recently accepted into their program and I am super excited. Now I am debating whether or not to take my A&P's prior to the start of clinical in the Fall or during. It seem very appealing to lighten my workload as much as possible before the start but I want to make sure that the material I am learning is what they want us to know. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

So much of what you'll be discussing in lecture/clinical is a "review" of A&P; that is, you need to already know the A&P to follow the nursing lectures. It's possible to learn the A&P as you go (in my program, the A&P and nursing lectures sync nicely for those doing both simultaneously), but having had A&P beforehand reinforces the material instead of adding the extra layer of "I'm still learning the anatomy and how to apply it in the nursing process at the same time." I took my A&Ps beforehand and am more and more thankful every week that I did.

Great point! That is what I was thinking and I would like to have more time to focus on the nursing courses as well. Thank you!
