reactivating NJ RN license

Published

Has anyone reactivated their RN NJ license? I originally took my boards in NJ, thinking that is where I was going to work, but I could not find any jobs. I then moved to CT and when it was time to renew my NJ license, I put it to inactive status thinking that was going to be easier to reactivate when I moved back home, instead of letting it expire. I have since moved to TX, and still have a TX license. I now want to move back to NJ to be with my family, and am looking into reactivating my NJ license. It looks like I have to retake the NCLEX or take a refresher coorifice, since it has been more than 5 years. Does anyone know if that is true, since I have been practicing since I left NJ, and have always had an active license in other states.

Was this a fairly easy process?  I have worked in MA since 2009 (when I originally got my NJ license).

New Jersey is now part of the nursing compact. I would check your state and see if it's one of the 47 or so states and just apply for your compact license.
