Rather odd question

I can understand not wearing underwear with jeans, but isn't all that stuff swinging around under those loose pants distracting? :rotfl:

We just had our uniform/dress policy revised and sent back out to all the staff (not an underwear issue, more a fleece and colors thing). I was reading it (really bored that night) and was surprised to find how specific it was. One thing it included was that appropriate underwear was required and that with white scrubs "neutral colored underwear" is a required aspect of the dress policy. We have no thong policy, yet. . .

And as to the question :: I'd wear the underwear.

I have three boys, 22 years old, 20 years old and almost 4 years old. So I know . . . . scrubs are thin, not like jeans . .what happens with the last few drops of urine when you pull up your scrubs? Walking around with a wet spot is not a good thing at work.

don't ask....don't tell. i sure wouldn't want to know or see it rise on the job for that matter........as a patient or a staff member. don the undies dude.

When I was in school (the 1st time for my LVN - 12 yrs. ago) the uniform was white and the teachers required us to go through "panty-checks" which were random. They'd ask us to bend over and check us out for "proper undergarment attire."

Any of you ever have to do this?

I don't really understand your problem because, like, what is it you are afraid of or need to validate? Is this like keeping a secret and dying to tell?

as the title says, this is kind of odd for me to ask...

anyways I'll cut to the chase:

I'm a CNA student and I read somewhere in the book that part of daily hygiene involves changing underwear every day.

Thing is, I'm a guy who prefers to go commando. I have been for quite a long time, in fact, I don't like wearing boxers, briefs, or even boxer-briefs.

My question is, is it necessary to wear some form of underwear when working in the nursing field?

Whether odd or not, I'm sure your question deserves a genuine answer. In my opinion, do whatever you prefer, but hygienically speaking, you probably should wear some form of underwear. Personally, I wouldn't put myself in a position that could turn out to be really embarrassing. There's a doctor who practices in our facility that goes "commando"... not that the other nurses and I purposely look, it's just very obvious when he walks down the hall in his scrubs.
