Just a thread for the applicants of Rady Children's hospital RN Residency for October 2017. My first choice was NICU and second choice was heme-onc! Has anyone heard anything?
I had a status change on 8/16 - it turned yellow and says "Your application has been reviewed and is currently being considered to determine if you are one of the most qualified applicants. Please note that due to the number of applicants, not all will be interviewed. If selected for an interview, the department leadership will contact you. We invite you to log back on in the next few days to determine if there is a status change. Thank you and Best Regards. Rady Children's Recruitment Team" BUT NOW - it is no longer yellow, and says in application history 0 status changes. Is that because it changes back to a normal background after you view the change??? OR was the status change a mistake... ? I applied cvicu & nicu and no call for interview or anything except for that one change.
I work there now as a PCA and heard this weekend that they aren't even hiring in the ED this cohort which is frustrating since that was my first choice. My second choice was NICU but my cover letter was really geared toward ED because my supervisor told me that typically they get so many applications that they only look at your first choice. I fee like my application was wasted now bc NICU won't take my resume seriously with an ED cover letter and ED isn't hiring. My supervisor also convinced me to put ED as my first choice because she said I sounded more passionate about it which would be reflected in my interview. I took her advice and immediately regretted it and knew I wanted NICU. So frustrating.

Congrats!!! I just got a call for an interview on Hem/Onc as well!! Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us! Not sure what types of questions to expect though, so if anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it!
