I get asked this at least 5X a day.

I don't KNOW!!!!!! WAAAAAA!

Seriously. I love the variety that the regular medsurg floors offer, like psych but don't feel I would be very good at it w/o more education and training. I'm just not sure.

My thinking is for a brand new about to be grade (one week! yahhoooooo!!!!) that I am willing to accept whatever job I am offered within reason (and providing I feel I'm ready and trained to handle it).

Everyone else keeps saying...to hold out for the 'right job' for me. I don't know what that is yet so how can I hold out for it?

ACK! Decisions decisions! And I need to start my job search.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Beggars cannot be choosers in a rough economy with high unemployment. The picky new grad who holds out for the 'right job' might be unemployed for several months, or perhaps a year or longer before the 'right job' comes along. Nursing is not recession-proof, and the economic downturn has had an effect on healthcare jobs.

You are correct in accepting any reasonable job offers that you might receive. I wish you the best of luck in your job search!
