I wasn't sure whether to post this question in the student or regular nurses section but here goes. I was wondering if any nurses had any recommended "must" reads for students/new nurses. For example, often new medical students are encouraged to read "On Doctoring" by Reynolds and Stone a collection of stories, poems, essays, etc. I was wondering if there was a nursing equivalent.

cannot imagine you will have the time. "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down". I think that is the title. It is about a child caught in the middle of East vs. West medicine. True story and will teach you a lot about ethics as well as the eastern culture.
I've read that. I had to read it for a "social behavior and medicine" course.
