Hello All
This seems to hold true not only for travel nursing but any hospital job. Their requirements for hire include RECENT (the last 2-3 years) HOSPITAL/ACUTE CARE experience. So how does one ever get a travel nurse/hospital nurse job if you have been away from the hospital for more than 3 years?
Thanks

You take your act on the road until you find a hospital without local supply to have such requirements (rural areas especially). Heck, that is what I had to do fresh out of nursing school in an mild countrywide recession. You can also apply for a specialty internship at teaching hospitals. It sounds like you need a specialty upgrade anyway where you are looking. If you were L&D or OR for example, I think they would take you without recent experience.
A second way to go is to apply locally anyway and beg for interviews, shadowing, and so on, and make a great impression (forget about it if you don't make a great impression on peers and managers). None of these suggestions have anything to do with travel and you might try posting in your specialty forum or local forum for better help.
By the way, are you from South America? Possibly language skills could help you in the right city.
