"Not a good fit" - or what?!

Nurses General Nursing

Hi, all,

what do you write on an online application (which won't let you leave anything blank) for "reason for leaving", when the job/unit was just not a good fit? I'd like to apply for another position at the same hospital, and the unit in question has a well-deserved bad reputation (so it should be no surprise to anyone), but I still wonder how this sounds, especially to a hiring manager.

Have any of you used "not a good fit", for something similar (what?), and how was it perceived? Any suggestions as to what I might use instead?

Thank you so much!

Thanks for the great suggestions. I was just wondering if it's appropriate to use a reason for leaving such as "career advancement" when it was mutually agreed that there was not a good fit between this nurse and that particular unit (about which the less is said, the better). I did receive great acute care training there (plus ACLS), which should help in finding something else and better - if it weren't for that confounded "reason for leaving" (and no, I was not fired or asked to resign and never got any negative evaluation; I was there

Thanks again, you have been very helpful and supportive.
