What is your prereq GPA? Is there a way to bring it up a bit more to be competitive?
And if advisers keep steering you wrong, then research the programs yourself. Most schools have their requirements on their websites, including what classes you need for the program. I ended up figuring out what I needed myself because the advisers at my community college will tell you a different thing each time you go in. I didn't have time for me not to know exactly what I needed to do when.
Otherwise, you should sit down, write out what you need for each program, figure out the average GPA and scores of those accepted to the programs you want, and determine out a plan to get what you need. Make a study plan for the TEAS so that you can get the highest score possible. A great TEAS score can offset your GPA a bit.

You should probably work on bringing up your GPA. 2.73 isn't competitive and actually all nursing programs around me require a minimum of 3.0.
