I know a lot of nurses get upset when a tv show gives negetive light on the nurse profession and this is understandable since the public in general can not always distinguish between reality and what they see on tv. remember that for every on bad comment on tv there are plenty of good ones both on tv and in the real world that people come in contact with.
Do we have the right to get upset? of course we do, but remember that freedom of speach goes both ways and we have to accept that some negitive comments will be aired.
We are a noble profession
Hi all..I just wanted to share/ask your opinions about this as it made me so sad last night when I was watching this famous show "Grey's Anatomy". I really like this show but I wasn't able to watch the very first ones and my husband got those as a gift to me yesterday.
At one moment, a dr says "I hate nurses" when a nurse questioned him about a diagnose on a pt. After that, the same dr was talking to Grey and he repeated "I hate nurses" This time Grey got angry and said "Did you just call me nurse?":angryfire
I felt so bad. What dou you think? Am I overreacting?
Thanks for listening and all your inputs in advance..:
Its just tv. Maybe you should watch House. He doesn't discriminte :nuke: He offends EVERYONE.

I think they're just jealous because they can't do what nurses do
I know exactly which moment you are discussing, and it got me a little annoyed too. She acted like she was just called a bad word. In fact, all those little side comments is why I stopped watching the show. I know some people say it doesn't matter, but maybe the producers kinda got the point that nurses were becoming annoyed (there's also a storyline where a nurse gives an intern an STD I think, but don't quote me), because later episodes began to turn things around a little bit (I believe there was an episode highlighting a nurses' strike and one of the interns getting the runaround when she disrespected a nurse). Then I started catching a couple of episodes here and there. I think it does help when something on TV shows us in a poor or non- professional way and people speak up..t.
