"Career Suicide"

I have a hospital job right now, but because of the hours and stress in addition to home life and little kids, I'm thinking of going to the clinic. The hours would be better for my kids right now. I'm just wondering if leaving the hospital and going to the clinic would be "career suicide". Someday when the kids are older will I be able to get back into the hospital or will I be stuck in the clinic forever if I make this move?

Thank you for all of your replies. I applied for the urgent care position as they wanted me to before I could even shadow. They seemed interested and I felt like it would be a terrific fit for my life and family. My supervisor said that she would let me stay prn at the ER so if I get an offer, unless it's a substantial pay cut (though I would think my pay would transfer being the same Healthcare organization), I will take the urgent care job and stay prn at the ER.
