quick question on the teas test

Published

Hi,

my exam is coming up in 11 days and I am getting more and more anxious. Right now the reading section is making more anxious because of the timing. I have dealt with timed exams before and naturally the best way for me to get through them is skipping the hard questions and answering the easy ones first. Can you skip through questions and go back to them?

Thanks!

Yes, you are able to flag questions and go back to them. I was really nervous about the reading portion as well and it didn't turn out to be so bad at all. Honestly a lot of people say do not read the questions first when it comes to the reading portion, but I think everyone is different...for me, I know for a fact it saved me some time to see what the questions was asking and really focus on the answer I was looking for. It may not work for you, you may be someone who prefers to read the passage and then look at the questions, but just a small tip from me to you. I ended up scoring a 78 on the TEAS, which is proficient and almost advanced. It was in the 95th percentile for my program. I just knew I would choke with the portions each being timed differently - it is not near as bad as we all feel it to be before taking it. Just remember to breathe and keep your composure. You got this. Good luck!

Thank you so much!

Hi, I hope you passed your TEAS. For future reference, it is NOT recommended to skip any of the questions because it is unlikely you will have time to go back to them. You have approximately 1 minute per question, so after about a minute, if you aren't sure, then guess and move on. You can miss 10 questions and still pass the Reading section.

I wish you the best!
