1. There are many components that go into the nurse manager position.Can you discuss some of those components, and what you believe is themost important component for a nurse manager to have?
2. How would you describe leadership? How do you demonstrateleadership in the unit?
3. Healthcare and nursing is always changing. How do you envision theprofession of nursing as it changes? What advice do you have for nursesto embrace these changes?
4. Nursing is an extremely large profession, and while there are manyprofessional organizations, a large portion of nurses choose not to be apart of these organizations. How do you think we can increase theamount of members to help our nursing voices be heard?
5. There can be many challenges as a nurse manager. Tell me about someof the biggest or most difficult challenges you have to take in as amanger.
6. It can be difficult to get support sometimes for ideas or changes youmay have. Tell me about a time when this happened to you and what youdid to increase your support.
7. Discuss the three biggest accomplishments you've experienced so faras a nurse manager.
8. What advice do you have for graduating nurses?
9. What are the major development and training needs of the people inyour department? How do you identify them? What steps have you taken,or plan to take, to address these needs?
10. Having a positive, supportive work environment really can impactnurses attitudes on a unit. How do you keep a positive and supportivework environment?
